LOVE THE LORD
DEUTERONOMY 6:1-7
Key Verse: "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might" (Deuteronomy 6:5).
God is love. He first loved us. He has deep love for mankind and gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. God loved us even when we were still sinners. He saved us and called us to be His children.
A child of God must love God in return. Anyone who has not received the love of God cannot love God. Disobedience to the word of God is because we do not love God. Loving God must come from the heart. If you love God, you will do His will and keep His commandments. This is the mark of true love for God.
God wants you to love Him with all your heart. There are practical ways to show your love to God. Receive His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and be saved from sin. Listen to His word, read it every day, think on it, hide it in your heart and obey all His instructions. Then share with others all that you have learnt from God's word.
Show love to those you come across, share what you have with the needy, pray for others and let your life be a shining light in your community. Loving God demands that you live for Him both day and night.
Prayer: Lord, help me to love You with all my heart.
